Community and Public Health and Disability Support Advisory Committee

​​At its meeting on 15 March 2018, the Board of the Canterbury District Health Board endorsed the merging of the Community and Public Health Advisory Committee (CPHAC) and Disability Advisory Support Committee (DSAC), into the Community and Public Health and Disability Advisory Support Committee (CPH&DSAC).


​​Role

CPH&DSAC has specific aims and functions prescribed within the NZ Health and Disabil​ity Act 2000 (Schedule 4, Clauses 2 and 3). These are to give the Board advice on:

  • the needs, including the disability support needs, and any factors that the Comm​​​ittee believes may adversely affect the health status, of the resident population; and

  • priorities for the use of the health funding, including disability support funding, provided.

 ​

Membership

The Board appoints members to the Committee. The Committee comprises both Board members and m​embers of the public. They have a statutory governance role.
