Update 09/09/2020 - Interim Validation Update

Due to the change in Nursing Council audit processes and the commencement of nurses being audited with APC's from 01/07/2020, the CDHB PDRP office advises that any interim validations due from 1 October 2020 will now no longer be waived.  Section Four will now need to be completed and forwarded by email to the PDRP office on or before the due date.

Update 11/08/2020 - Interim Year Requirements

If you have an interim year validation due in 2020, this can  be waived. If your CNM/LM are able to complete your interim during this time, these can be sent in via email as normal.

PDRP Interim Year & Resubmission reminder emails will be sent out as per normal via the PDRP database.

You must inform the PDRP office if you wish your interim year validation for 2020 to be waived.

PLEASE NOTE – Resubmissions of portfolios cannot be waived.

Update 01/07/20

The PDRP office is now operating again as normal. Thank you for your patience over the last few months.

NCNZ Update 01/07/20

Nursing Council NZ have informed the PDRP office that as of 1 July 2020 they are going to start recertification audit again for nurses that have practising certificates expiring 30 September 2020.  This means that they will be sending out notification of audit emails to nurses as of Wednesday, 1 July 2020.

For those who receive an audit email and are currently part of our PDRP Programme (including those who  have been granted an extension)  please email PDRP@cdhb.health.nz  and we will liaise with Nursing Council on your behalf.

Update 4/5/20

Portfolio Submissions

As of this week, the PDRP office is able to start receiving portfolios again, both resubmissions due and new submissions.  Please send by internal mail only to the PDRP office.

Note: Please be aware that currently portfolios are not being sent out to assessors for assessment.  Due to the COVID-19 situation, assessment timeframes will be considerably larger than normal.

Update 23/4/20

Portfolio resubmissions

If you are due for a full portfolio submission over this time period of COVID-19 lockdown Levels 4 & 3, please email the PDRP office (pdrp@cdhb.health.nz)   outlining your circumstances, including manager details. We will then grant the appropriate extension for you and update our PDRP database with this information.

Update 17/4/20

Thank you to those that have contacted the PDRP office regarding an extension.  We are continuing to monitor the situation with Covid-19.  Rest assured we will be granting extensions for all of those with portfolios due over this time period. 

Moving forward as the situation settles down, we will be putting time frames in place.  Please continue to monitor the website for updates.

Please note: CDHB Staff - if you have an interim year validation due in 2020, we are allowing a 12 month extension (i.e. this will be waived for 2020).

 

PDRP Education and Training sessions:

All education and training pertaining to PDRP Portfolios, i.e. PDRP Workshops, Resource person training, New Assessor training and Current Assessor updates, have been deferred until further notice.

NCNZ communication:

The Nursing Council has suspended its usual continuing competence audit requirements until 31 December 2020.

PDRP portfolios:

  • Please do not submit your PDRP portfolio. We do not have staff in the office to process them.
  • If you are due for a Portfolio resubmission within this period, you will be granted an extension, please email: PDRP@cdhb.health.nz  for further information.  
  • NetP and NESP applicants – You will receive information from the NetP or NESP Nurse Educator team. At this stage there is no change in your submission date. You will need to send your portfolio via internal mail to the PDRP office please.  

CDHB Interim Year Validation:

  • If you are due for a CDHB Interim Year Validation, you will be granted a 12-month extension from the date your Interim was due (this is an organisational requirement at the discretion of CDHB PDRP Nurse Coordinators). 

Please note: This will not affect your remuneration. You will be continued to be paid pro rata if you are on the PDRP programme.

PDRP Assessors:

  • At this stage we cannot send you a hardcopy PDRP portfolio. We need to ensure infection prevention control measures are maintained for portfolios.
  • Portfolio assessing is at the discretion of your line mangers. It is not considered essential services and your skill set and knowledge may be better utilised clinically.
  • If you have a portfolio you are assessing, please complete the assessment and send via internal mail to the PDRP office. If you are waiting for extra evidence, please complete the assessment before sending the Portfolio via internal mail back to us. 

PDRP Resubmission Update 26/3

Until we have some clarity on how the situation with COVID-19 is tracking, all nurses due to resubmit a PDRP portfolio in the near future, please do not stress about the resubmission.  Extensions will be given for nurses over this time.  Updates regarding extensions will be posted going forward.

A message from Nursing Council re Audit

Nursing Council New Zealand (NCNZ) have notified all DHBs and clinical teams that they are cancelling the recertification audit for nurses who have APC’s expiring 30 June 2020. Given the evolving and challenging circumstances related to the COVID-19 virus, NCNZ wish to advise these nurses they do not need send anything through. The CDHB PDRP team has moved to Manawa!

The CDHB Professional Development & Recognition Programme (PDRP) office is now located in Manawa, Level 5, 276 Antigua Street, Christchurch – the Health Education and Research Facility.

Please note the reception on Level 5 is for ARA purposes only.

If you are wanting to submit your portfolio, please use the PDRP Drop off box located on the 5th floor, to the right of the lifts. You do not need to drop your portfolio to us personally as we do acknowledge receipt of all portfolios dropped off at the box.  

If you have an appointment or if you need to meet with any of Nursing Workforce Development Team, please use the sign-in IPad at reception.

The PDRP Administrators can be contacted on extension 85502 or pdrp@cdhb.health.nz. All other PDRP staff will be available by mobile phones.

Each organisation's PDRP Coordinator can answer questions specific to them and receives portfolio submissions from their nurses. You can go to a specific organisation's internet by clicking here.
