Do you care about your mental wellbeing? Do you enjoy a little friendly competition? Would you like to be in with the chance to win amazing prizes?

Then you should join the thousands of New Zealanders who are signing up to play the Wellbeing Game*. It's a fun, easy way to improve your mental health.

The Wellbeing Game 2014 is coming soon to a workplace, school, library or household near  you and registrations for teams and individuals to play are open from today (September 22) at!

Last year, almost 2000 Kiwis signed up to play the fun, interactive online game and we're aiming to top that number in 2014. An evaluation of last year's game showed that people who played at least three times boosted their own wellbeing. 

With one in five New Zealanders experiencing mental illness every year, positive mental health practices can make a real difference in Kiwis' lives. The Wellbeing Game is an easy way to introduce the Mental Health Foundation's Five Ways to Wellbeing into your everyday life.

The Five Ways to Wellbeing ­– Connect, Give, Take Notice, Keep Learning and Be Active ­– are simple, everyday practices to help Kiwis support and sustain their own mental wellbeing. They're proven to enhance people's experience of life.

Participants in the Wellbeing Game play as part of a team or as an individual and log time on their online account whenever they practise one of the Five Ways. Teams can watch as their combined wellbeing hours grow and keep track as they climb the nationwide leader board.

This year there are amazing prizes up for grabs for participating teams and, best of all, everyone who plays will be consciously fostering their mental wellbeing.

The Wellbeing Game 2014 will kick off on October 6, to coincide with the start of Mental Health Awareness Week. Registrations for the Wellbeing Game are now open – teams can have as many members as they wish. Go to the game's official website  to register and for more information.
